This season, we're diving into The Oracle of Ix Chel by Dr. Rosita Arvigo, a historical novel that weaves together ancient Maya wisdom, plant medicine, and the sacred feminine.
Dr. Rosita Arvigo is a renowned herbalist, naprapathic physician, and author who has dedicated her life to preserving and teaching traditional Maya medicine. She lived and studied for decades in Belize, learning directly from Don Eligio Panti, one of the last living Maya shamans. Her work with botanical medicine and spiritual healing is deeply rooted in this ancestral knowledge.

About the Book
Set in the ancient Maya city of Chichen, this historical novel follows Jade Skirt, Oracle and High Priestess of the Goddess Ix Chel, during a pivotal time when the Maya turn from peaceful worship to the brutal practice of human sacrifice. With courage, plant wisdom, her spirit guide, and a forbidden love, Jade Skirt must defy the priests of the War God to protect her granddaughter—the future of Ix Chel’s sacred lineage.
This is a story of resistance, ancestral power, and the divine feminine—one that invites us to reflect on the intersections of history, spirituality, and justice.
